All About Mrs. Donato I was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. I have 1 sister (she teaches at Abney) and 2 brothers. I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a BA of Science in Early Childhood Education. I worked as a paraprofessional for 5 years in Cobb County while going to college. This will be my second year teaching at Abney. I am coming from Dowell Elementary in Cobb County where I taught for 10 years. I have taught First grade, Kindergarten, Third grade and Pre-K. I have been married to the most amazing guy for 9 years and have a sweet little girl named Finnely, who will be 5 in August. We have a dog named Max and we live in Paulding County. I love travel with my family and experience new things. Our favorite spots so far have been Oahu, New York City, Disneyworld and Turks and Cacaos Islands. I love teaching because it is challenging and fun. I try to make learning authentic and exciting each and every day by using hands on activities that encourage real world connections. My goal is to create a love for learning in your child that will follow them throughout their educational career. I encourage students to take risks with their learning and to learn from their mistakes rather than be discouraged by them. I believe working together with parents can make huge impact on a child’s success and I really look forward to working with you and your child this year!
